Spanish Senate approves combined Ex-pat association’s amendment
to contentious administrative law (article 108.3 of the LRJCA)
Once more people living in fear of
demolition have been thrown a lifeline in that if they received building
permission for their house, which was subsequently revoked, then their house
cannot be demolished until compensation has been paid.
This goes hand in hand with the
change made to the criminal code approved by the senate in March 2015. There is
still much to be done to legalise our houses, but these two actions should put
member’s minds more at ease.
Our thanks must go to AUAN &
SOHA whose members have paid for these important amendments to Spanish law in
order to protect their members. In the latest amendment they were joined by
Spanish associations from Cantabria and Valencia.
