Newsletter No 7

There was considerable scepticism regards where business would go in 2013. The property market was flat and there were great concerns about the economic climate. However, we are seeing encouraging levels of interest in property for sale in the Costa de la Luz and some very promising enquiries from people who feel that now is the time to start a new life and a new business in Spain. That said, it will be some time before we get to anything like normal trading, so patience is a virtue if you are trying to sell.

We are also seeing promising levels of enquiries for both holiday rentals and long term rentals but pricing is competitive and there is a lot on offer so it is vital that property owners are realistic about rental prices and flexible on long term contracts.

In this edition, we are very lucky to have a great article on Pedro Veniss. The Brasillian born international show jumper is currently riding in the Sunshine Tour held annually at Montenmdio just outside of Vejer de la Frontera.

Also in this month´s Newsletter is an article by Steve Harris, one of our local electricians and TV specialists. Steve is writing about the possible loss of our Freeview TV later this year when the main channels change over to a new satellite. Steve has been testing out some solutions.

James Baxter our money man has an update on the money markets, what´s going up, what´s going down and what´s just sitting there.

Finally, we have an article on the origins of Carnival in Cadiz which brings thousands of people to this area every year and if you have not experienced Carnival then schedule it in the diary for next year.
