Mission Statement CFRA is an association formed by and for the benefit of the English speaking residents of Chiclana to promote good relations with other members of the community, encourage integration into Spanish society and provide support, representation and advice to members on issues relating to living in this part of Spain. |
The Chiclana Foreign Residents Association (CFRA) is a legally registered non profit making association formed by and for the benefit of the English speaking residents of Chiclana to promote good relations with other members of the community, encourage integration into Spanish society and provide support, representation and advice to members on issues relating to living in this part of Spain. The concept of the Association initially came from the Ayuntamiento de Chiclana; they wanted to establish a communication link with their foreign residents. In January 2008 a meeting attended by over 200 people voted in favour of starting the process of forming an association and in July, with the final legal paperwork complete, CFRA was inaugurated. You can read Colin Wood's opening speech here. CFRA will be holding regular liaison meetings with the Ayuntamiento where it can represent the views of its members and also receive information which it can disseminate to its members. The issues of illegal housing, electricity supply problems and urbanisation are very important and CFRA will be doing all it can to gain as much information as possible whilst formulating the best plan of action. CFRA will be offering its members an increasing number of benefits. These include: | Your chance to have an input on issues that concern all foreigners living in this part of Spain. | | Access to the "Members Only" area of this website with news and information as it is published. | | Information on important issues which may affect you. | | Representation to the Ayuntamiento on a wide variety of issues. | | Representation to other statutory bodies and service providers. | | Being part of a network helping each other with all aspects of living in Spain as a foreigner. | | Discounted access to the many and varied future events being planned by the Association. | | Access to free legal advice through our legal surgeries with the Temple Cambria Law Firm. | | | |
