La Longera coronavirus

Health professionals from La Longuera, in Chiclana, test positive for coronavirus

The Satse union denounces the delay in carrying out the tests and obtaining the results, something that may have caused more infections and calls for measures to prevent the staff of these centres from continuing to work in these conditions.

The Satse Nursing Union, in Cádiz, has publicly denounced "the state in which different centres in the province are located, and among them the La Longuera emergency centre", in Chiclana, facing the current health alert.

As highlighted by the union, in this centre several professionals have already tested positive for coronaviruses, professionals who, in some of the cases, reported symptoms several days ago and were notified on Wednesday of the positive result of their tests.

"This delay, both in the taking of samples and in the delay in issuing the results, has meant that many of his colleagues have not been isolated with the necessary haste, in order to break the chain of infections," they continue to denounce, stressing that, according to the  data revealed by the Andalusian Government, 21% of positive cases in our community are healthcare. "

As Satse laments, "We present the highest rate in the entire state. This is as much attributable to the lack of individual protection means, as to the delay in carrying out the diagnostic tests."

Emergency Lock down Monday 16th March 2020
Saturday, 14 March 2020

Hi Folks,

FROM MONDAY 16th March 2020

The Royal Decree approved by the Government to implement the state of alarm increases measures to force citizens from all over the country to confine themselves to their homes.  The latest draft of the document, to which Vozpópuli has had access, limits movements to citizens and will only be able to circulate through the streets and highways to acquire food, medicine and basic necessities, attend their work centres and health centres,  and other causes of force majeure.

The document establishes, in particular, that citizens may only circulate along public use roads for the following cases:

Acquisition of food, pharmaceuticals and basic necessities.

Assistance to health centers.

Travel to the workplace to carry out your work, professional or business provision.

Return to the habitual place of residence.

Assistance and care for the elderly, minors, dependents, people with disabilities or especially vulnerable people.

Displacement to financial entities

Due to force majeure or a situation of need.

Any other activity of an analogous nature duly justified

In the same way, the circulation of private vehicles is allowed to carry out the activities referred to in the previous section or to refuel at gas stations or service stations.

End of emergency notice

Brexit News from Blevins Franks
Tuesday, 18 February 2020

Hi Folks,

Our Sponsors Blevins Franks have written to articles on Brexit.

The first "Countdown on to review UK pension options before Brexit" gives options on what to do with your pension if you are not yet drawing it

and the second "Brexit begins: What UK expatriates need to know about the Withdrawal Agreement" gives us the relief we need if we are already drawing our pensions.

Both articles are worth reading because there is so much mis-information out there and these articles are exactly how things are and will be.

Brexit
Tuesday, 17 December 2019

Hi Folks,

Now the election results are known, Brexit I believe is a forgone conclusion; we have received two articles from our sponsors Blevins Franks which I believe now are important to all members. Please click on the word "Finance" above this article to read those articles.

In our lives there are times when we should take a moment to reflect and think about our future. NOW is the time to think about the consequences of Brexit. We will be a third country in European terms and I know a lot of people are chasing paperwork before Brexit happens. NIE, Residencia & padron are papers that need to be obtained and if you are exiting Spain for any reason, I advise people to take these papers with them in case there are problems when you return.

As detailed in the December email, there is an article on changing your nationality to Spanish, and I will publish any papers that will help members during this turbulent time.
